Eligibility
We welcome applicants who:
- Are Singapore citizens
- Have strong academic and CCA records
- Are passionate about science, technology and innovation
- Are keen to contribute to Singapore’s safety and security
- Are applying to, or currently enrolled in, undergraduate STEM programmes
Academic requirements
You may apply prior to receiving your final examination results. A provisional scholarship offer may be made if you are found suitable, subject to confirmation upon the release of your final results. |
Scholarship benefits
The HTX Scholarship provides comprehensive financial support including the following:
- Full coverage of tuition fees and other compulsory university expenses
- Living allowances to support accommodation, meals, transportation, and daily living costs
- A one-time pre-studies allowance to help you prepare for your academic journey
- Funding for approved expenses, such as visa application and processing fees
- For mid-term scholarship holders, tuition fees and other compulsory expenses incurred before the scholarship award will be reimbursed
The scholarship also empowers you to broaden your horizons and maximise your university experience through:
- Sponsored overseas exchange or summer programmes that complement your studies and enhance your academic, professional, and cross-cultural exposure
- Potential support for a relevant Master's degree (subject to approval), enabling you to deepen your expertise and prepare for a meaningful career with HTX
Bond period
- For undergraduate study in Singapore: 4 years
- For undergraduate study in non-English speaking countries: 5 years
- For undergraduate study in English-speaking countries: 6 years

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
A) Applying for the HTX Scholarship
1) I haven't received my final exam results yet. Can I still apply?
Yes. You can apply before your final results are released. If you are assessed to be suitable, HTX may make you a provisional offer, which will be confirmed after your results are released.
2) Can current undergraduates apply?
Yes. You can apply through our mid-term scholarship track if you:
- Have completed at least one semester of university
- Have a good academic record

3) What courses of study are supported?
The HTX Scholarship develops future technical leaders for careers in HTX and MHA. Your proposed or current course of study should therefore be in a STEM discipline that is relevant to HTX’s work. Examples include:

4) Do I need to have secured a university place before I apply?
No. You do not need to have secured a university place before submitting your scholarship application.
However, you should indicate the universities and courses that you have applied for. We encourage you to apply for the scholarship early. If you are shortlisted, we will contact you for an update on your university applications.

5) What's the difference between the HTX Scholarship and the PSC Scholarship (Engineering)?
Both scholarships can lead to a career with HTX. The HTX Scholarship is awarded directly by HTX. The PSC Scholarship (Engineering) is awarded by the Public Service Commission and allows you to choose HTX as your parent agency if you are interested in an engineering-focused career in the Public Service. Speak with us if you are unsure which scholarship better matches your interests and career aspirations.

The application exercise opens from 1 Sep 2026 to 15 Mar 2027.
7) What can I expect during the application process?
The following documents will be required for undergraduate scholarship applications:
- Resume (Please highlight relevant projects, leadership and community involvement, work experience, awards and technical skills. Focus on your contributions and impact)
- Secondary 4/Year 4 Year End School Academic Reports, including results and teachers' comments
- Secondary 4/Year 4 Co-curricular Activities (CCA) and Community Involvement Programme (CIP) Records
- Pre-tertiary CCA and CIP Records
- Certificates of Academic Qualification obtained such as GCE O-level, GCE A-level, International Baccalaureate Diploma, NUS High School Diploma, Polytechnic Diploma, other high school diploma or equivalent
- University Academic Transcripts
- University CCA Records
- Internship and Work Testimonials (if applicable)
- NS Certificate of Service and Testimonial (if applicable)
- Psychometric assessments
- A group assessment centre

8) What does the HTX scholarship cover?
The scholarship covers:

9) What's my service commitment (bond)?
Your service commitment depends on where you study:
- 4 years: undergraduate study in Singapore
- 5 years: undergraduate study in a non-English-speaking country
- 6 years: undergraduate study in an English-speaking country
10) Can I hold another scholarship at the same time as the HTX Scholarship?
No, you cannot hold another scholarship at the same time as the HTX Scholarship.
11) Can I change my course of study after accepting the scholarship?
Please consult HTX and obtain approval before making any changes to your approved course of study.
C) Life as a Scholar
12) Will I get internship experience with HTX during my studies?
Yes. You will have the opportunity to complete at least one internship with HTX, typically during your first year of study. You will get the opportunity to learn from our team of science & tech experts and tackle real-world projects. Your internship
placement will be matched closely to your field of study.

13) Can I take up internships with other organisations?
Yes, it will be subject to HTX’s approval. Please consult HTX before accepting an internship with another organisation.
14) Can I attend exchange or summer programmes during my studies?
Yes, you may attend relevant exchange or summer programmes with HTX’s approval. These programmes should complement your main course of study, broaden your academic, professional or cross-cultural perspectives, and contribute meaningfully to your development for a future career with HTX. Each request will be considered based on factors such as the relevance and value of the programme, your academic progress and your ability to manage the additional commitments.
15) Can I pursue a Master’s degree under the scholarship?
Sponsorship for a Master’s degree may be considered, subject to HTX’s approval. The programme should be relevant to HTX’s work and your anticipated career pathway. It should deepen your technical or professional expertise, broaden your perspectives, and strengthen your ability to contribute to HTX after graduation.
16) Will I be able to choose which HTX division to join after graduation?
You will have the opportunity to indicate your preferences. You will be matched to a role that takes into account:
- Your interests
- Your area of specialisation
- The roles available
- HTX’s organisational and capability needs
