Singapore and the United States are deepening their partnership in science and technology for public safety.

During a recent official trip to the United States, HTX Chief Executive Chan Tsan and Dr. Dimitri Kusnezov, Under Secretary for Science and Technology at the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), inked a Letter of Intent (LOI) for both organisations to deepen their partnership in science and technology, and explore opportunities for innovation.

“The Ministry of Home Affairs and DHS have a long-standing agreement to collaborate on science and technology (S&T) dating back to 2007,” said HTX Chief Executive Chan Tsan. “Now that HTX is formed, the signing of this LOI signifies the strong intent of both organisations to take the relationship further and strengthen our S&T collaborations to solve public safety challenges together.”

As part of their trip, the HTX delegation also met with representatives from the DHS Homeland Security Investigations Cyber Crimes Center, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, New York Police Department, and Fire Department of the City of New York.
