HTX held a special evening event titled Mesh! to celebrate the meaningful and impactful collaborations it has with its many partners on the evening of 8 July 2025, with about 400 guests from 190 organisations – a considerable increase compared to the inaugural event last year – turning out in force.

The people who showed up were from 11 partner countries, 22 Singapore government agencies, 13 research and academic institutions and close to 140 industry partners.

The guest-of-honour for the event, Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs Mr Edwin Tong, gave a speech in which he emphasised the importance of collaboration to advance science and technology for public safety in Singapore.

Mr Tong also shared why he believes that Singapore has a special role to play as a hub for public safety science and technology, noting our strategic advantages, such as a world-class business environment, strong talent pipeline, well-educated population and good ecosystem that allows for the testing of new technologies.

"The world we live in is fragmented, and safety and security is never something that we can take for granted. It is therefore more important than ever to find avenues for partnership, for dialogue, for collaboration…let us celebrate this partnership, because what we have is special. It's not something that we can snap a finger and bring together – it comes from a deep reservoir of trust, of common belief and of a single-minded direction towards building science and technology to help our public safety,” he said.

Earlier in the day, HTX Deputy Chief Executive (Development) Ng Yeow Boon, Deputy Chief Executive (Operations) Chen Yeang Tat, and Chief AI Officer and Assistant Chief Executive (Digital and Enterprise) Ang Chee Wee spoke to a select group of partners about the agency’s goals and aspirations for the coming years, including its strategic priorities, its capability sustainment and sustainability plans, as well as the upcoming Milipol TechX Summit (MTX) in April 2026.

In his opening speech at the dinner event, HTX Chief Executive Chan Tsan announced that Mesh! will now be held once every two years to celebrate the strong relationships between HTX and its partners. He also spoke about MTX – which is a rebrand of the Milipol Asia-Pacific—TechX Summit (MAP-TXS) – noting that it will be a bigger event than the previous edition in 2024.

“In just over five years, HTX has made significant strides in advancing the Home Team's technological capabilities, and much of this progress would not have been possible without dedication and collaboration from partners like you. Therefore, on behalf of everyone at HTX and the Home Team, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each one of you this evening. I'm confident that with your continued support and commitment, we will continue to excel in our shared mission of making Singapore a safe home for all,” he said.
