A critical pillar of criminal investigations, forensics provides the scientific evidence needed to solve cases and deliver justice. Today, criminals are becoming increasingly sophisticated and are using advanced methods to avoid detection, thus making it imperative that investigators evolve in tandem so as to stay one step ahead.
Modern crimes often span physical and digital domains. A drug case might involve digital evidence from communication devices, whilst a crime scene might contain both physical and digital clues that need to be examined together. As such, the challenge faced today lies not just in the thorough recovery of this evidence, but in connecting the dots across different forensic domains to unravel insights and investigative leads that would help investigators solve the case.
The Integrated Forensics Service (IFS) addresses these challenges by consolidating frontline crime scene, digital, and drug forensics into one cohesive unit.
