“Alone we can do so little, Together, we can do so much” – this quote from
author, educator, and advocate for disability rights, Helen Keller, aptly captures the team spirit and camaraderie of HTX officers (or Xponents, as what HTX officers call themselves) as they went the extra mile together in HTX’s Annual Cycle 2022.
As an agency, HTX chalked up enough distance to go 1.5 times round the circumference of the earth, and raised more than the $50,000 target set in support of social enterprise Engineering Good.
To be exact, HTX raised $51,555 – the result of three weeks of campaigning to raise awareness of the cause, which included the challenge of pledging to ride 2022km collectively as a team of five over a ten-day period. The teams in the 2022km challenge exceeded the target distance, with Team XBTX clocking the longest distance at 3,478km.

The funds raised will go a long way in providing engineering and technology solutions for the disadvantaged and vulnerable communities, such as refurbishing used laptops for low-income families and developing assistive technology solutions for persons with disabilities.

Fun Fact: Xponents received an additional boost when Minister K Shanmugam joined them to cycle a stretch along East Coast Park on 14 Jul as part of the Annual Cycle. He brought along with him nine of his parliamentary colleagues including Ms Sun Xueling, Minister of State for Home Affairs and members of the GPC for Home Affairs to cheer HTX on.
