Traditionally, Workplace Safety, Health and Security (WSHS) training typically involves attending briefings and lessons.
Now, thanks to a new game called SafeXplorer, Xponents can learn, engage with and better retain workplace safety principles thanks to the use of immersive 3D environments that simulate actual workspaces within HTX.
Launched on 27 August 2025, SafeXplorer is the brainchild of a multidisciplinary team comprising Xponents from several HTX divisions, including Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNE) Centre of Expertise, Human Factors and Simulation (HFS) CoE, the Sustainment Transformation and Risk Management Office (STRMO), and the Training and Learning Systems Office (TLSO).
SafeXplorer is available to all HTX staff on the Home Team Learning Management System (HTLMS) 2.0.
Having people from various backgrounds allowed the team to draw upon a wide range of experiences, and this resulted in training scenarios that are tailored to address the specific needs of HTX's multi-faceted work environments as well as the workplace safety challenges associated with each of them.
The online nature of SafeXplorer also offers an added advantage of allowing Xponents to access the training at their own convenience and providing flexibility compared to traditional classroom-based training.

Through this innovative learning approach, the SafeXplorer team aims to make WSHS training more effective, engaging and memorable. With the launch of SafeXplorer, the team hopes to foster a stronger safety culture across HTX, ensuring every Xponent is well equipped with the knowledge to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
Previously, engineers from HTX’s Platform Systems Capability Sustainment (CS) and Q Team Centre of Expertise (CoE) also developed another WSHS-related application called SafeX, which uses an AI Vision model to analyse CCTV footage and detect safety infringements.
