[MEDIA RELEASE] HTX announces collaborations with partners on sidelines of Milipol Asia-Pacific – TechX Summit 2024

SINGAPORE, 4 April 2024 – HTX announced today a series of collaborations with partners to enhance public safety and national security. The collaborations are in the areas of AI Innovations, Research & Technology Translation, International Ops Tech Knowledge Sharing, and Global Access to Technologies and Expertise.

To fully harness the potential of AI, HTX and Microsoft will establish a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that leverages Singapore’s sovereign cloud initiatives and Microsoft’s AI expertise to integrate the use of AI into the operations of HTX and other Home Team agencies.

HTX will also embark on six partnerships with industry and academic institutions to promote the translation of research and technology development into ops-tech capabilities. HTX will collaborate more extensively with ST Engineering in areas such as unmanned/counter-unmanned systems, weapon systems, smart vehicles, AI capabilities. The partnerships will also strengthen industry-academia collaboration to support emerging operational requirements.

Collaborative agreements will be signed with industry leaders of their respective fields, namely, Rohde & Schwarz, Samsung Electronics, and Knovel Engineering. To position Singapore at the forefront of advanced technology and research, HTX will become connected to the global R&D community through agreements with IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organisation advancing technology for humanity, and the Tsinghua-Hefei Institute of Public Safety Research (THHI).

In a world where public safety and security is a shared responsibility and common good, HTX is committed to facilitating ops-tech knowledge sharing among international partners. HTX will establish a MOU with the Australia Border Force (ABF) to facilitate exchanges on areas of mutual interest in operational science, technology, research, and innovation, to advance border, homeland, and public safety and security.

HTX’s ambition is to champion innovation for public safety and security by creating new pathways for global access to technologies and expertise. The agreement with IEEE will allow HTX to tap into IEEE’s global network of expertise across diverse technical domains. HTX will also be extending its collaboration with Thales to jointly work on solutions that enable the Home Team to better secure borders, safeguard critical infrastructure and generally keep Singapore safe and secure.
