HTX celebrated the promotion of 216 Xponents as well as 41 Long Service Award recipients who had dedicated 25-35 years to the public service on 8 May 2025.

To mark this jubilant occasion, Chief Executive Chan Tsan highlighted the good work done by Xponents.

“Over the past year, HTX has done very well in fulfilling our mission of force multiplying the Home Team. As your CE, I’m immensely proud of the exceptional job done by all Xponents in contributing to HTX’s vision of exponentially impacting Singapore’s safety and security,” he shared.

During his speech, he acknowledged the achievements of the two most senior promotees, Forensics Centre of Expertise Director Lim Chin Chin, and Plans and Strategy Director Cheng Wee Kiang, both of whom have made significant contributions in their respective areas of work.

Tsan then shone the spotlight on the four Xponents who were deployed to assist with search and rescue efforts in Myanmar following the earthquake that struck on 28 March. He also paid tribute to Xponents who are forward deployed, noting that these unsung heroes are crucial to fulfilling the Home Team’s mission of keeping Singapore safe and secure even though their contributions are not always visible to the public.

In addition, Xponent Pathori Mashor, a technical support officer with the Protective Security and Safety Centre of Expertise who is forward deployed to the Singapore Civil Defence Force, was praised for his dedication to the public service.

Pathori was receiving his 40-year Long Service Award that evening!

Among the promotees that evening was Tan Teck Chuan, Director, Platform Systems Sustainment Centre, who was especially happy that 20 Platform Systems staff had been promoted, with another six receiving their public service Long Service Awards.

“I am deeply grateful to all my bosses and colleagues for their unwavering guidance, support, care, and friendship throughout this journey,” said Teck Chuan, who also received his 30-year Long Service Award.

Meanwhile, Tan Keng Boon, Lead Engineer (Control Systems Engineering), Corrections & Narcotics Programme Management Centre (CNPMC), paid tribute to his colleagues after receiving his promotion.

“Promotions are not just milestones – they are mirror reflecting the collective effort of a team and the trust of my superiors. I am deeply grateful to my superiors for their belief in my potential and for their consistent guidance, and to my colleagues for their camaraderie, support, and the shared commitment, all of which have shaped my growth in HTX.”

“What has made this journey even more meaningful is the HTX culture where continuous learning and work-life balance are not just supported but encouraged. These benefits reflect a genuine commitment and investment in employee well-being, ensuring I can bring my best to both work and life. I look forward to pushing boundaries further and contributing even more with purpose, passion and perspective,” he added.

Dr Sheik Mohamed Anees, Senior Forensic Scientist, Forensics Centre of Expertise, was similarly filled with gratitude.

“I’m incredibly grateful to my supervisors and director for the amazing opportunities, including overseas exposures, and for always having my back. Their patient guidance, even when I slipped up, made all the difference. Thanks to their leadership, I never feared making mistakes; I saw them as chances to grow. They’ve truly empowered me and helped shape who I am today,” he shared.

Dr Wong Swee Liang, Senior Scientist, Disruptive Technologies Office, singled out HTX’s intellectual culture as the secret to his success: “The primary success factor is the exceptional individuals at HTX with whom I have had the privilege to collaborate and learn. This includes not only my outstanding colleagues but also supportive leaders. The teamwork and support have been instrumental in my progress thus far.”

Xu Yuan Xing, Lead Engineer (AI Solutions & Design), AI Central, was likewise grateful for his supportive colleagues and HTX’s learning culture: “I am thankful for my supportive supervisors and colleagues who guided and groomed me and also HTX for providing multiple opportunities to grow and develop.”

Irene Lim, Head (App Development, Accelerated Development), xCloud, shared: “Growth is never a solo journey—it's shaped by the guidance of mentors, the encouragement of supportive leaders, and the invaluable mutual learning experiences with both my peers and team members. I'm deeply grateful for the opportunities and support HTX has provided, which have helped me grow professionally.”
Cherry Tan, Lead Engineer, Strategy & Transformation, HTxDigital, shared: “I am honoured to receive this promotion and sincerely grateful for the unwavering support and guidance of my reporting officer, Jared Low, and my directors, Joseph Tan, Pan Yong, and Allan Loi, as well as the invaluable opportunities that have shaped my journey. The training programmes, flexible work arrangements, and HTX’s open and collaborative culture have fostered an environment that empowers Xponents to grow, share ideas and drive innovation, and I am excited to continue contributing to HTX’s mission.”
