xDigital architects and drives HTX’s digital transformation, playing a key role in making HTX a digital and AI‑first organisation.

Every day, we work to digitally reimagine and transform the experiences of our Xponents and Home Team Officers and move boldly to make it a reality. We embrace creativity and explore unconventional approaches, ensuring that no idea is off the table as we build a best‑in‑class digital and AI experience.

The Teams

In xDigital, we are structured into 3 teams with diverse skillsets to enable us to build our digital reality.

Strategy & Transformation Team

Strategy & Plans: We focus on architecting and driving the organisation's digitalisation strategy. This involves coordinating the Digitalisation and AI Steering Committee (DASC); monitoring digitalisation progress against established benchmarks and driving experience transformation workstreams.

Digital Programme and Engagement: We focus on raising awareness and boosting adoption of digital tools and skills. This includes building and enabling a digital community through fun and engaging campaigns, product launches, competitions, and gamification initiatives.

Transformation: We aim to develop digital skills and promote the use of whole-of-government (WOG) and HTX tools. It also involves co-creating apps and solutions, as well as developing and training a pool of Digital Champions skilled in digital and AI tools.

Digitalisation Implementation Team

The Digitalisation Implementation (DI) Team is always on the lookout for new technologies so that they can turn problems and opportunities into practical solutions that improve how HTX officers work every day. The team delivers workflow applications, and workplace capabilities that are intuitive to use, and well-integrated across HTX’s digital ecosystem.

The DI team’s development squads concentrate on two core areas. One team designs and delivers workflow applications that transform isolated, manual processes into seamless digital journeys. This gives officers structured, reliable, and well governed digital experiences that are easy to navigate. The other team builds and refreshes mobile applications as part of a SuperApp, creating user friendly, responsive tools that enable officers to perform quick actions and access routine services directly from their handheld devices. Together, these squads enhance both the efficiency of back office workflows and the convenience of front line mobile interactions.

Beyond applications, DI also shapes a modern physical and digital work environment. This includes improving the digital experience on HTX officer’s laptops, making everyday interactions with workplace technology more intuitive and consistent, and enabling better integration between physical equipment and digital applications. Where needed, DI engages partners to assess and implement suitable solutions that fit HTX’s environment, enhancing workplace experience, engagement, and collaboration efficiency across both physical and digital settings.

AI Products Team

The AI Products team approaches transformation through the development of products that enhance user experiences across the Home Team. We go through a holistic process that incorporates design thinking, user journey mapping, pain point identification, and user persona development, building AI products that not only eliminate pain points but also elevate current experiences.

Our flagship achievement is the Home Team AI Suite, launched in January 2026, featuring three secure, AI-powered products designed to boost efficiency, engagement and productivity across Home Team operations. Built for sensitive public-sector work, these tools enable Home Team officers to use the power of AI in their day-to-day work.

The suite includes Paperwork, which uses AI for document generation and validation, focusing on procurement and approval processes for now. Teammate serves as a conversational and agentic AI platform supporting brainstorming, document drafting, and information search with citations, whilst also enabling officers to build and share custom chatbots. Buzzer transforms training and engagement by creating interactive experiences through quizzes, polls and gamified onboarding for staff inductions, town halls and training sessions.

All products are hosted on HTX's enterprise-grade AI infrastructure NGINE, ensuring a secure environment for AI operations. The suite continues to evolve with expanded capabilities and new products in the pipeline, developed through close, user-centric partnerships with officers on the ground whilst preserving strong guardrails around data security and AI governance. The team is already pushing the boundaries in Agentic AI, rolling out new features leveraging on agents, and also piloting new ways of product development with AI agents as coworkers.
