- HTX’s efforts to force multiply the Home Team were recognised at the Committee of Supply Debate 2026, which underscored the need to tackle an evolving threat landscape.
- HTX is scaling AI capabilities by expanding and upskilling its workforce, deploying the Phoenix LLM and NGINE infrastructure and implementing measures to keep AI safe and secure.
- HTX is also helping to prevent, detect and solve crime through the National Scams List, AI-driven scam website detection tool and AI-powered investigation platform NarcoNet.
Even as Singapore continues to top global safety rankings, it faces an ever-evolving threat landscape with which the Home Team must keep pace. That was a key message highlighted during Minister for Law and Second Minister for Home Affairs Edwin Tong’s speech at the Committee of Supply Debate 2026, which took place on 27 February.
The annual session examines budget allocations for government ministries and departments. This year’s conclave highlighted the Home Team’s initiatives to tackle public safety challenges in flux, from advancing the whole-of-nation fight against scams, to combatting drugs.
