2025: a year of game changers and big wins

Fresh science and technology (S&T) solutions? Check.

Next-gen labs and facilities? Absolutely.

New global horizons? Of course.

And force multiplying the Home Team? That goes without saying.

2025 has been a standout year for HTX – we pushed frontiers, scaled impact and strengthened Singapore’s public safety. Here’s a look at some of our biggest highlights.

This year, our S&T solutions didn’t just get bigger – they levelled up in innovation and impact too.

Powered by artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and more, we built cutting-edge capabilities that help the Home Team work smoother, faster and smarter.

Airport patrols will get a whole lot easier with GIBSON – our patrol robot designed for real-world policing with a blend of safety, adaptability and usability.

Trials kicked off in July, lending a hand (or well, wheels) to airport police officers who have to cover much ground during patrols or when responding to incidents within the sprawling airport grounds.

Citizens get to benefit from our innovations, too. The October debut of our Report Lodging Co-Pilot (R-COP) is proof of that.

This AI-enabled chatbot helps the public lodge police reports with ease – making the process faster, simpler and far less daunting.

After nearly four years in the making, Blue Dolphin, the 2nd Generation Marine Rescue Vessel (MRV2G) which we helped to develop, officially hit the seas on 25 June.

Bigger and more technologically advanced than its predecessor, this new vessel supercharges the Singapore Civil Defence Force’s (SCDF) marine firefighting and rescue capabilities.
Building meaningful, workable solutions for the Home Team, like those we rolled out this year, requires the right space, tools and resources.

That’s why we opened five new labs and facilities this year, each purpose-built to drive key missions in enhancing public safety.

Our FIRST (Forensic Innovation and Research for Strategic Transformation) Lab was unveiled on 14 April as Singapore’s national facility for testing of New Psychoactive Substances (NPS) – a significant advancement for the Home Team in the space of drug detection.

FIRST also conducts deep research in forensic areas such as biology, chemistry and pharmacology.

XPLORE
(Photo: HTX/Alywin Chew)

We opened a gateway to human performance modelling with XPLORE (Human Performance ModeLling and SimulatiOn REsearch Facility), the world’s first human factors and simulation facility dedicated to advancing human performance, resilience, and human-AI collaboration for public safety.

Launched on 7 November, this set-up facilitates research in human biophysical and cognitive sciences and develops AI-assisted interventions for the Home Team.

Could this be the coolest garage in Singapore?

Opened on 13 October, Garage@HTX – Singapore’s first purpose-built Developmental Testing and Evaluation (DT&E) facility for public safety – comes fully equipped with state-of-the-art DT&E equipment that can help accelerate the development and deployment of the Home Team’s capabilities and bolster organic engineering capabilities.

NGINE

And then there was the official launch of the Home Team Sustainment Centre (HTSC) in September. This first-of-its-kind hub provides a comprehensive overview of the readiness levels of a wide range of Home Team assets.
While we work to enhance public safety on home ground, our impact has also transcended Singapore’s borders.

Not only did we lend a hand in overseas humanitarian missions with our S&T and sustainment capabilities this year, but we also took to the global stage to share our expertise with the world.

Once again, we flew Singapore’s flag high at Milipol Paris from 18-21 November – the leading biennial global public safety event organised under the aegis of the French Ministry for the Interior.

Here, we introduced Milipol TechX Summit (MTX) 2026, which will bring global public safety leaders together in Singapore to solve pressing challenges and supercharge innovation.

In April, four Xponents joined the SCDF’s Operation Lionheart contingent to assist with search and rescue operations in Myanmar’s earthquake disaster zones.

While two of them were responsible for providing the SCDF with technical support, the other two led the first-ever field deployment of HTX’s cyborg cockroaches.

But for all that we accomplished this year, we didn’t do it alone. With trusted partners across industry, academia and of course, the Home Team, we scaled faster and pushed boundaries harder than ever.

Here are some key partnerships we snagged in 2025:

Partnerships help us accelerate the development of cutting-edge public safety technologies. That’s why we’ve collaborated with industry leaders Mistral AI and Microsoft this year, to develop Phoenix, our proprietary large language model (LLM). We also inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Mistral AI to build a sustained programme of AI research and development.

We also renewed and expanded our partnerships with NCS, Thales and Accenture, leveraging their expertise to supercharge our AI movement and empower the Home Team Departments with smarter, faster, and more resilient capabilities.

Since November, our strategic partnership with Hyundai Motor Group (HMG) has set the stage for the development of future mobility technologies. Under the pact, Kia – an affiliate of HMG – will introduce its innovative modular electric vehicle platform in Singapore, providing a more agile and sustainable fleet of public safety vehicles for the Home Team.

Hatch has done it again. This year, besides running its flagship innovation programme, Dimension X, our innovation centre for public safety also launched a new technology-evaluation initiative, In-Beta, to fast track the creation of dual use solutions which strengthen Home Team operations.

42 startups participated in Hatch’s demo days through the year – the highest we’ve had on record – unveiling proofs of concept that were co-developed with challenge owners from HTX and the Home Team.

And it’s official – we’ll be joining forces with Civipol to organise the 2026 and future editions of MTX.

We also struck a partnership with DEF CON and the Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies to bring the world's largest hacking and security conference to Singapore for the first time from 28-30 April next year, to be colocated with MTX 2026!
And the results of our year? They spoke for themselves.

We clinched awards, not only for empowering the Home Team, but also for building a workplace where Xponents can thrive.

For the third year running, we made the Singapore’s Best Employers 2025 list compiled by The Straits Times and Statista! We’ve always said we play as hard as we work – and this recognition is certainly an ode to that mindset.

From colourful townhalls to exuberant celebrations, we brought the energy and spirit, turning every work day into something worth showing up for.

2025 Digital Services Awards
(Photo: HTX)

We helped several HTDs pick up Best Discoverability Awards for their services at the 2025 Digital Services Awards, including the SCDF, Singapore Police Force (SPF), Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA), Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), and not forgetting, HTX itself.
Our efforts in empowering the Home Team didn’t just earn recognition within Singapore – they were also recognised internationally in spotlight moments at renowned global conferences.

Over in South Korea, we joined international forensic science experts from 18-19 November at the 2025 Korea Crime Scene Investigation (KCSI) International Conference, sharing the benefits of the Forensics Unified Management System (ForUMS) – a new digital case management system that will transform the way investigations are conducted.

AI in Digital Forensics
(Photo: HTX )

That’s not all. We showed off our chops in using AI to tackle crimes to an international audience at the INTERPOL Conference on AI in Digital Forensics: Unpacking Insights in Investigations and Analysis, held in Tokyo, Japan from 28-30 October.

During this conference, our Xponents shared Singapore’s multi-pronged strategy in combating cybercrime, as well as HTX’s in-house developed digital forensic tools that help counter deepfakes.

And there you have it. A busy but fruitful year in force multiplying the Home Team.

What will the coming year bring? All we can say for now is that it won’t be a quiet year.

Bring it on, 2026!
