Sensors and Sensemaking

The Sensors and Sensemaking Centre of Excellence focuses on enhancing the Home Team Departments’ (HTDs’) ability to interpret and understand complex Vision and Sensor data, as well as to navigate Vision-AI and Sensor challenges, enabling informed decisions and proactive responses.

This involves developing tools and methodologies for Home Team officers to sense-make, identify patterns, and derive actionable insights, to safeguard our public safety more effectively.

Our engineers work closely with the HTDs to support their deployment of sensors and develop different sensemaking systems leveraging on state-of-the-art Artificial Intelligence technologies such as Alchemix and  InXeption. We have also supported various HTDs through the successful implementation of projects such as:

1. Using video analytics and AI to help the Home Team save lives more effectively and swiftly at sea
2. Using video analytics to better monitor inmate activities
3. Conducting a trial to test Rover-X’s image quality capabilities
